In the early 1970's one fashion trend that continues from the late 1960's was the hippie look. In the 1970's the women began wearing skirt lengths, and in some way they did what they want, because one day a girl could wear a short mini skirt and the next day a maxi dress or whatever they can found that were on style. Also the miniskirts became part of the quotidian life of the women in the early 1970's.
In the 1970's Disco look appears as a new trend, using the memorable hot pants and spandex tops. The shiny colors also were important elements of disco look, but more important than disco look it was the disco dancing, giving sense to the 1970's. But there were problems with the girls at a disco, because of their wearing that confuses men and in sometimes demonstrating that mini dresses were a symbol of exploitation instead of freedom.
Another trend was the platform shoes, becoming the style for men and women, also the fitted blazer, which flared faintly at the hip. At first, the platform shoes started with a quite sole which began to grow, becoming very popular.
